The French Chef…Bon Appétit!

10 Feb 2009 | News

We recently devoured a delicious read and national bestseller; My Life in France by Julia Child written with Alex Prud’homme.

Julia is a delightful storyteller and recounts her days in Paris and Marseilles during the ’50’s  with excruciating detail. It’s as much of a love story as a culinary journey and you can’t help but be inspired by her passion for cooking. We just had to perfect the omelette in her honour…we are working on the fois gras panné àl’anglaise et sauté au beurre…See the 6’2” phenom in action  Julia Child making an Omelette.

Julia often refers to this bible of cookery, Larousse Gastronomique

Be sure to pick up your own copy of My Life in France and Larousse Gastronomique, both available at The Cross Decor & Design.

We can’t wait for the movie! {Update: we absoloutely LOVED the film julie & julia! Meryl Streep was incredible and lovable…we could watch it again and again!}

I would too Stephanie. In fact I bought it on my apple ITV. It is just such a happy movie and I love the loving respectful relationship between Julia and her husband. I hope they were like that in real life!
